Gathering Light is a safe, supportive space for:

  • Victims of crime.
  • Friends and family affected by a loved one’s addiction or trauma.

Together we focus on healing, self-care, and healthy boundaries. And we remind one another that no one has to face this journey alone.

The family and friends program recognizes the complexity of being in a close relationship with someone struggling with an addiction. The journey can be frustrating, painful and sometimes lonely journey, in which it is easy to lose oneself.

Rather than focusing on your loved one, this group invites you to concentrate on yourself and your goals. This includes looking at your habitual responses to your loved one and considering if these are helpful or not.

This program supports self-management. You’ll explore ways to look after yourself better, even in difficult and stressful circumstances. And you’ll look at ways to establish a healthier relationship with your loved one.

Positive change is a key focus. Participating in a supportive group of people with shared experiences reduces feelings of isolation and instills a sense of hope.
